Gaining in popularity are composite decking materials, composed primarily of a mix of recycled plastic and wood fibres. While a deck built with these materials is clearly not “natural” and won’t have the potential beauty of a real-wood deck, you can choose from an array of colours to mimic a more natural look.
Our wood plastic composite decking boards are made from 60% recycled hard wood fibres and 40% recycled polyethylene, bonding agent, additives, and tint.
Boards are available with a either hollow or solid core and are available in eight colours, depending on your project’s requirements.
Unlike our real-wood timber decking boards, which are available in 4.8-metre lengths.
The boards are either Original or Woodgrain finishes. The Original finish features narrow-grooves for low-slip benefits and a safer walking surface.
Further, advancements in this type of decking have made its look-and-feel downright attractive, by many accounts.
The strongest argument for composite materials is their low-maintenance requirement: no sanding, refinishing or staining—ever. Further, it usually comes with at least a 20-year warranty. The downside is—as you might expect—its cost, which runs more than natural wood decks, depending on the quality and warranty.
Construction
